I finished a Bachelor of Music Education major in Piano and minor in Voice at Centro Escolar University, Philippines. I continue my Pre-Masteral Degree at The University Of the Philippines. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish due to some issues, but I never stop learning I am continuously updating my knowledge and my teaching strategies in music education.
I am a Music Adviser - A member of the bishopric, I supervise the music program in the ward, advises the ward music chairman, and represents the music program in leadership meetings. I serve as a ward organist or pianist in our church. I provide prelude and postlude music and accompaniment for hymns at sacrament meeting and other ward meetings as requested.
My teaching philosophy is the belief that every child can develop talents, and my task as a teacher is to share my love and passion for music, providing the path by building the skills that will open the door to success. A hope to a lifelong joy of music-making and create the environments in which my students will motivate themselves.
I am a big believer in teacher-student duets for younger kids. When I was in college, I took Piano pedagogy, and I learned that Playing with the beginning student is one of the best ways to improve their playing. They tend to model their playing from their teacher so that benefits alone are worth it. It does make the simple piece sounds grown-up.
I am an active member of MTAC (Music Teacher Association of California, and Redlands Branch of Music Teachers, (SMAC-OC) Suzuki Music Association of California Orange County Piano Branch, Piano Basic Foundations, and (SSA) Suzuki Association of the Americas
I have been offering music lessons for over 20 years. My music studio students actively participate in a bi- Annual recital and prepare them for any school talent performances.
According to Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, “ Musical ability is not an inborn talent but a skill which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited.
