Is there a minimum age for a student to start the lesson?
Yes. Students should be at least three years old to start taking a lesson.
What is a group class?
- An integral part of piano study
- A monthly opportunity for students to perform
- Music theory, history, and performance etiquette
- Fun and engaging musical activities
- Make piano friends
- Build a musical community
During the lesson, students will do some activities that are related to actual teaching. Students will learn to play duets or in a group. They do some Basic Rudiments of Music by moving around, clapping or tapping the rhythms, and do musical games. Ear training (rhythm, pitch, melody recognition, direction, and intervals) is also part of the lesson.
What do you do in a group class?
- Have fun with music
- Perform repertoire
- Review repertoire
- Build musical skills through group activities
- Learning beyond individual lessons
What do you enjoy the work you do?
I enjoyed seeing my students smile on their faces, especially when they start learning to play a simple piece with the correct tone. Students are motivated to learn and play more, learning rudiments of music by moving or simply clapping/tapping the rhythms, performing on a Recital, and participating in any Musical event.
It all began when I applied to a Yamaha School of Music when I was in 3rd-year college. I passed the audition/Performance test to be a Piano Instructor. I handle a group class of 4 students since then, I also started accepting home private lesson outside the school area, and eventually, I started merging with another freelance music teacher like Guitar and Violin to have a once/twice a year Recital (Summer and Winter Recital)
In the Yamaha School of Music, we prepare our students for a Trice a year Recital and some Mall performances in promoting the school in the area.
Is it possible for me to learn music even though I am older or too young to start the lesson?
It is possible! Everyone has the ability to learn.
Do I need to practice all the time? What if I don't have instruments.? Will you still accept me to have a lesson?
Everyday practice is crucial in students' progress, so I require at least two 15 mins each day practice.
If the student doesn't have an Instrument, I require the student to buy one.
I will accept you, but with a condition, if you are willing to buy your instrument in the future, then you are approved.
What if I am busy can I still have a lesson or do make up lesson the following week or within the week?
Definitely Yes, In case the student is planning to be absent, I allowed a 48-hour notification and arranged a makeup lesson. If the teacher were not informed a day before, the scheduled lesson would be forfeited.
Last-minute notification is not acceptable.
